DJ STEP is a tenured music selector, deejay and multi-disciplinary creative based out of Chicago, who focuses on the inner connections between music, dance, and sport.
Inspired by the relationship between movement, rhythm, and competition, a burgeoning STEP instantly became enthralled with record selection and mixtape creation, often curating custom playlists for friends and teammates whilst growing up in central Connecticut.
STEP’s unwavering love for music and culture eventually led him to Chicago where he decided to pursue his passion for deejaying full time and quickly became known as a nightlife staple within the city’s competitive sound selector scene. STEP’s skills have granted him appearances as a headlining act at industry mainstay spots such as the Ace Hotel and Blind Barber, collaborating with legacy brands like Adidas and securing a role as the official deejay and music director of the Chicago Fire Football Club.
He’s also received national acclaim from NPR Music who named STEP as one of the ‘Top 5 Chicago DJs to Watch’ as well as winning first place in Vocalo Radio’s Annual ‘Quest For The Best DJ’ competition, proving his passionate dedication in understanding the music that ignites and excites his audiences.
To this day, STEP continues to embrace and learn from dancefloors in Chicago, New Orleans, New York and beyond—scratching and mixing his way through the diverse and eclectic genres, venues and audiences that inspire him.
